1. About These Terms
These terms set out how we work together when you bring a watch to Tawan Wela for assessment or servicing. They apply to all repair and servicing work carried out at our workshop at 73 Thawewong Road, Patong, Phuket 83150, Thailand, and to enquiries made through our website at tawanwela.sbs.
By leaving a watch with us or accepting a service quotation, you agree to the terms described here. If anything is unclear, please ask us before work begins — we are happy to talk through any aspect of the process.
2. The Service Process
We carry out all work in the following steps, and we will not proceed past any stage without your knowledge and agreement:
- Initial assessment — We examine the watch and discuss what we find with you honestly.
- Written quotation — We provide a clear price before any work begins. There are no hidden additions.
- Your approval — We wait for your confirmed agreement before starting any work.
- Servicing — Work proceeds according to the agreed scope. If we discover anything additional during the process, we pause and contact you before continuing.
- Collection or delivery — We notify you when the watch is ready, and go through what was done at collection.
We aim to give you an honest, calm account of your watch's condition and never overstate the work needed.
3. Quotations and Pricing
All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Our standard service prices are:
- Diver's Watch Servicing — ฿3,600
- Bezel and Crystal Care — ฿5,400
- Comprehensive Care Package — ฿7,800
Where additional parts or unexpected work are identified, we will contact you with a revised estimate and will not proceed until you have agreed in writing or by confirmed verbal approval. We reserve the right to adjust a quotation only where circumstances genuinely change from the initial assessment.
4. Leaving Your Watch With Us
When you leave a watch with us, we will provide you with a receipt describing the watch and the agreed scope of work. Please keep this receipt — it will be required at collection.
- We take reasonable care of all items in our possession.
- We are not responsible for pre-existing damage not noted at intake.
- We store watches securely and do not allow unauthorised access to items in our care.
- If a watch cannot be safely serviced with available parts or within acceptable technical limits, we will tell you clearly and return it without charge for any incomplete work.
5. Collection and Uncollected Items
We will notify you by phone or email when your watch is ready for collection. We ask that watches be collected within 60 days of the completion notice.
If a watch remains uncollected after 60 days without prior agreement, we may charge a modest storage fee at a rate we will communicate clearly. After 180 days without contact or collection, we reserve the right to treat the item as abandoned and dispose of it in accordance with applicable Thai law, having made reasonable attempts to contact the owner.
6. Payment
Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch, or in advance for postal or courier arrangements. We accept cash (Thai Baht) and the payment methods displayed at our workshop. We do not release completed work until payment is received in full.
If you are unable to pay at collection, please let us know as soon as possible. We will try to reach a practical arrangement where possible, though we cannot commit to this in advance.
7. Our Work and Limitations
We take care with every watch that comes through our workshop. However, we ask you to be aware of the following:
- We cannot be responsible for failures resulting from pre-existing damage or wear that was not identifiable at intake.
- Water resistance testing is advisory. No service can guarantee water resistance under all conditions, and we will say clearly what depth rating, if any, our testing supports.
- Parts sourced from third-party suppliers are subject to availability and may affect turnaround time. We will communicate any delays promptly.
- Vintage or heavily worn movements may not return to full manufacturer specification, and we will discuss realistic expectations with you before starting work.
8. Complaints and Resolution
If you are not satisfied with our work, please contact us as soon as possible. We take every concern seriously and will discuss the issue with you calmly and honestly.
If a fault arises that is directly related to work we carried out, we will assess the watch without charge and, where we agree the fault is our responsibility, repair it without additional cost. This does not apply to damage from misuse, accident, or conditions outside normal wear after the watch has left our workshop.
We can be reached at [email protected] or by phone at +66 2 559 6281.
9. Liability
Our liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the price you paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect losses, consequential losses, or losses arising from circumstances outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud — as required by applicable Thai law.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any disputes arising from our service relationship will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. The terms that applied when you left your watch with us remain the terms that govern that service engagement.
12. Contact
If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us before engaging our services. We are happy to explain anything in plain language.
